The Dream I Dream

I dreamed that you had ceased to love me—
not that you had come from other beds
back to mine, or gone from mine to others,
just that something in your heart had stopped.

I willed myself awake to find you still
beside me. It was just a dream, I thought,
yet when I turned to kiss you, in your eyes
I saw that you had ceased to love me.

I willed myself awake a second time
to find myself alone, as I have been
these many months, but did not know if it
was terror or relief I felt, and whether

dreams unfold the past or make the future
plain. I dreamed that you had ceased to love me,
and know when I see nothing in your eyes
I can't dream myself awake a third time.

Mexico Dressing

Your Song Today
Just thought I would show off this awesome dress my Mimi gave me. She got it from Mexico and is a little big but not too much to make it noticeable while I'm wearing it. Of course when I am not wearing it the first thing everyone says is, "It's gonna be too big." Whatever. These pictures were taken by my sister Hannah Cole when she and I had a Sister Day downtown. We went to Out Of The Past, which is the place that most of these were taken. Then to Recycled Reads where I got two books, one of Shakespeare's Sonnets, and the other was Sherlock Holmes. hardbacks are $3 and paperbacks are $1- so cheap!!!
Got this adorable tea cup at the antique store.
I have started loving little details like this on dresses to
just make them look cute.

Hunger-Hunger

So I went to the Hunger Games midnight showing last night and it was definitely good , there were a couple things but I won't mention the mistakes for those of you who haven't seen it yet. That's all I will say.

Patterns are a huge thing for me, whether they be alligator, polka dots, arrows, leopard, swirls, plaid, stripes, lace, floral, or zebra. I enjoy putting them together and alienating an outfit with a crazy patterned piece. Here are some of my favorite patterned pieces.
Pattern's Only Village

I guess this would also be a good time to mention Patternity, this place flings deck pattern ideas at you and you can't say anything except, "Holy Cow, my life will never be the same." It basically changed my whole view on swag, and just style in general.
So there we go.

An Estate Sale To Remember

THE SONG OF THE DAY
I went to see my Mimi for Spring Break and poked forward to two long days of Scrabble, Hunting Shows, talking and golf cart rides; little did I know the surprise that awaited me.
We were going on our first ride when we stopped to say hello to Mrs. Lynn (Mimi's BFF), she was working to set up the estate sale because the lady that had died was her mom's best friend. We went into just check it out and I found the best vintage sale in the world. It was heaven.
*
Unfortunately her feet were 5.5 to 6.5. I am a nine.
THIS was the best thing I got there, and the most expensive- $25.
The shell buttons are so thin!!
These sweaters were THE RAVE in the '80s, and also suuuper expensive. Kids would order them from Australia for up to $650. I gopt mine for $10.*

*
I don't know if you can tell but this button up has a denim collar.*
*

My sister and I have gotten into screw on earrings and clip-ons. She actually doesn't have pierced ears but I do.

I now LOVE this brand.
The tops from yesterday are also stuff I got from this sale. I spent $113 there. $98 of it was my Mimi's but still- got a ton of awesome stuff.
Hope you enjoyed our time together. THE END.

My name is Natalie, I live in Austin, Texas and am very proud of that fact. Austin is the best. Keep Austin Weird.
I am the fourth of six children so I'm probably some kind of crazy.
I love style, art, music, books, drinks, food, furniture and words; although I cannot create any of those things I am  good at admiring.
I went to Uganda last summer, changed my life, so I will probably be talking about that a lot.
So now, I guess, is when I give you the rundown of this blog. I'll just put stuff that I do, I find, or just cool stuff in general.
I also thought I would put a song for you to listen to while you read the blog. Today's is "Somebody That I Used To Know (feat. Kimbra)" by Gotye. the link is at the top so you can just click and it opens and plays on it's own. Handy right?

I will blog whenever I have something cool to say. Easy. You don't get lousy posts and I don't have to slave everyday to get a post out there.
That's all for now folks.
